We received news yesterday that I think most of us were expecting. Social distancing and self quarantining will continue for the next three weeks. In the bigger picture, I know that this is the best thing for society.
We need to stop this contagion in its tracks and we need to take the burden off our beleaguered medical personnel. We have to protect the vulnerable in times like these. A society only works if everyone receives consideration.
This isn't about meeting the needs of the rich and the powerful. They have enough yachts and summer homes. This is about everyone.
At the same time, it's hard, knowing the past five weeks were only a prelude. I've been feeling more balanced. The panic attacks have become fewer and further apart. I've mostly resigned myself to not being able to work a market or a festival for the foreseeable future (perhaps most of 2020). I'm coming to grips with it and trying to direct my energies in other directions.
