I understand that dodos were an easy catch for the hunters of the time. Dodos never learned to fear humans and would come toddling up to anyone who might be looking for an easy lunch.
 
Flightless, if they became cognizant of their danger, the dodos would never have a chance to flee from the hungry hunter.
 
If we named them after roses would they still taste like chicken? So many questions we will never be able to answer because we've lost the inquisitive and naive birds for all time.
