Young Samantha loved going for long solitary walks on the beach, just her and her pup, Samson. The day dawned fresh and clear,  but her stroll on the beach developed in unexpected ways.
 
The Octopus Invasion began quietly enough. The krakken rose. The tentacled ones came from the sky and the sea. Samantha tried to pretend that all was well, but she could feel the tentacles creeping up behind her.
 
Only Samson remained unaffected. He was never very fond of seafood.
