Found on ocean bottoms all over the world, flounders are a type of flatfish species. They ambush their prey, feeding at soft muddy areas of the sea bottom as well as near bridge piles, coral reefs and docks. 
 
For most of my life, I've lived near the Gulf of Mexico. At long last, I am learning to embrace the beauty that is the underwater realm.
