Some companions are small, steadfast miracles.

This portrait began with a photograph of my elderly puggle, Marley, taken during the rare Louisiana snowstorm of January. She stood there, unbothered, dignified, and mildly unimpressed, as if snow were just another odd human decision he was choosing to tolerate.

Surrounding her now are orchids: symbols of endurance, love, and quiet grace. The flowers bloom impossibly from frost and memory, framing Marley as the patient heart of winter, a loyal soul standing in the delicate threshold between warmth and cold, life and remembrance.

Marley in the Snow is a celebration of devotion, aging, and the beauty of small, enduring spirits who anchor us through every season.
