Some dreams have wheels, even if they never quite reach the road.
Let’s Play, Boy was inspired by a family story and a car that should have been famous. The Playboy automobile, a bright, hopeful invention that never made it into full production, once carried my grandfather, grandmother, and mother down sunlit streets, briefly turning risk into joy.
My grandfather had a talent for engines and impossible ideas. He was a pilot, a mechanic, and a dreamer. The franchise he invested in went under, and the loss was devastating, but for a moment, behind the wheel of that improbable pink car, everything must have felt possible.
This digital collage reimagines that fleeting joy, a pastel daydream of motion, hope, and family myth. The flowers overhead shimmer like memory itself: soft, imperfect, and full of color that refuses to fade.
A love letter to those who dare greatly, even when the road ends sooner than planned.
