I've read a very thorough biography, Perdurabo, about Aleister Crowley and came away with gentler thoughts and judgements about this controversial and larger the life figure. He endured tragedy and spent money like water all in the pursuit of something larger, something important, something that would survive him and endure for centuries. A hundred and something years after his birth and we are still talking about him so he must have done something right.
