Why Weird Art Matters: A Love Letter to the Unusual

Somewhere in a dusty corner of the universe, there’s a room filled with the things we’ve all tried to hide.

A fox in a lace collar.

A fish wearing a monocle.

That one photograph of your great-aunt’s house, the one where the wallpaper seems to breathe.

These are the artifacts that whisper to me.

I gather them up, stitch them into collages, and give them new lives in my world of beautiful oddities.

We are the ones who see the ghosts in the windows.

We are the ones who name the crows.

We are the ones who laugh at the wrong time in the movie theater.

Weird art doesn’t always ask to be understood.

It just sits there, tilting its head slightly, as if it knows something you don’t.

If you’ve ever felt out of place, like the world was a well-rehearsed play and you came in wearing the wrong costume, this art is my love letter to you.

This is why I make art: for the ones who are gloriously, beautifully out of sync.

Because your strangeness deserves a frame.
