As the Fool begins his journey toward self knowledge, he must make many stops. The first stop is at the home of the Magician.
The Magician teaches us some of the most basic and important of lessons. The Magician is all about balance. We begin by balancing our inner world with our outer world.
The Magician is the Master of the Four Elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Every element possesses different attributes. Each is important. Balance is everything. The Magician is able to take potential and possibility and bring them to fruition in the material world.
A nature left out of balance cannot thrive. If we rely too much on one part of our nature, whether it's emotions or logic, our relationships and our work suffer.
We should work toward balance in our lives: the material in balance with the spiritual. Work in balance with play. Emotions controlled by logic. Cold logic tempered by empathy and compassion.
We need every part of our natures to be balanced and fulfilled. The Magician guides us toward this essential harmony for lasting happiness.
Seems like an excellent first lesson on the journey for our Fool.
